New coming!fcTnl+fNT-ProBNP Combined card protects your pet's heart health!!

New coming!

In early 2023, Healvet released the cTnl+NT-ProBNP Combined card test. After half a year of market verification, it has been loved and praised by many docs, and now it launches the cat dual-myocardial test.

Characteristics of cardiac markers

1. NT-proBNP

NT-proBNP is an indicator of the presence of cardiac insufficiency. When cardiac insufficiency occurs, cardiomyocytes are overstretched and stimulated, which will produce more NT-proBNP, so that cardiac function can be evaluated by detecting NT-proBNP. Because of the longer half-life of NT-proBNP, it is not easy to miss.

2. cTnI

cTnI a specific antigen of myocardial cells, which is degraded from myocardial fibers when myocardial cells are damaged, and walks with the blood circulation in this blood circulation. The concentration of troponin I is detected by peripheral blood to reflect the degree of myocardial damage.

fcTnl+fNT-ProBNP Combined card's detection advantage

1.more comprehensive assessment of heart disease

In the early stage of cardiac injury, cTnl increases rapidly, and fNT-proBNP may still be at a normal level.

2.More pet friendly

Only 75 microliters of blood samples are needed, which can reduce the stress and harm to the pets, and is more in line with the actual clinical operation

3.Short testing time

The test time is only 15 minutes, providing timely treatment options to improve the survival rate of the pet

Application

1.Pet physical examination

Congenital genetic heart disease, assessment of cardiac function in aged animals.

2.Screening for Heart disease
Mouth breathing, coughing, drowsiness, decreased activity time, mental deterioration, severe fluctuations in the chest or abdomen, and sudden hind limb paralysis.
3.Treatment efficacy monitoring and prognosis evaluation

Adjustment of treatment.

RESULT INTERPRETATION

1. fNT-proBNP+fcTnI normal

Low risk of heart disease, regular physical examination.

2. fNT-proBNP(normal)+fcTnI(abnormal):

The first case:Pets are at risk of cardiogenic myocardial damage and myocardial infarction.

The second case:Consider non-cardiac causes of secondary myocardial injury, such as severe infection, trauma, hyperthyroidism, immune diseases, pneumonia, and pulmonary embolism.

The third case:The myocardial wall pressure is not greatly stretched, but the myocardium has resulted in injury.

Note: cNT-proBNP is normal, but NT-porBNP may be low in patients with mitral stenosis or acute mitral regurgitation, or in patients with heart failure and preserved ejection fraction, even if symptoms are severe.

3. fNT-proBNP(abnormal)+fcTnI(abnormal):

The first case:Pets have heart disease and are at risk of myocardial infarction.

The second case:It is not necessarily a heart problem, it is necessary to consider the pet's abnormal renal function, chronic kidney disease, resulting in the simultaneous elevation of fNT-proBNP and fcTnI.

The third case:Cardiac abnormalities were identified, and the outcome did not improve after treatment, requiring consideration of an alternative treatment regimen.

Note: The reason for the slight increase in cNT-proBNP is that strenuous exercise causes a transient increase in NT-proBNP, so strenuous exercise should be avoided before blood drawing.
